The Ultimate Energy Park Vision
Now add a disc golf course (lighted, 24/7!) around the property, with fields of delicious organic produce, maple syrup production from the surrounding trees, and of course honey bees making sweet honey. Imagine sleeping and camping facilities for large groups, and an outdoor concert shell to host hot upcoming bands in conjunction with tournaments or other events.
Now imagine the whole thing is powered by renewable green energy, using a mixture of technologies best suited for the property, including wind / solar / hydro / geo-thermal / bio-diesel / hydrogen fuel cell, etc. and imagine we generate electricity not only for our own needs, but for the entire town as well. Imagine that the income from the energy we produce covers all our ownership expenses.
We could call it the "Ultimate Energy Park."
Eventual Site development of the Ultimate Energy Park could involve high speed everything, an on-site internet based radio station, and other cool desired integrations. So it could provide a meeting site for environmentally conscious groups or other corporate getaway events. We could also lease fields to other sports groups or to other events as another way to generate revenue.
Sounds too good to be true? I’m here to tell you that it can be done, that it has already been done before by others (Ottawa owns their fields), and the only thing stopping us from doing it right now is not dedicating ourselves and gathering our collective resources, focus, and will to make it happen. The thinking and the planning have already begun, AND SEVERAL KEY PIECES OF THE PLAN ARE ALREADY IN PLACE.
A couple of quick facts –
- This is currently conceived as a weekend tournament site, focused on opportunities discovered in Southern, VT. All potentially feasible sites will be considered.
- We (eventual participants) will do this with as few people as needed to get it launched, but ALL are welcomed to participate and share in the fun once we’re up and running, and anyone who shares the vision and wants to volunteer is more than welcomed to contact me to see how they can be involved.
- The exact structure of the deal is flexible at the moment, so we’re certainly interested in discussing options for participation with all interested parties, up to and including accredited investors.
- This is not an offer to sell securities – this is an offer to organize individuals to achieve common objectives. The actual structure will be discussed later.
- Parts of this vision will happen with or without our involvement, but parts of it will never happen without a strong and unequivocal response from all of you.
What happens next? For discussion purposes, I’ve scratched out 7 basic steps we’ll need to progress through to get this done:
- Step 1 – Making the announcement. (That's what this is!)
- Step 2 - gathering and organizing a contact list of interested participants.
- Step 3 - qualify the list based on respective resources and interests, and set up a small formal team of best available management and support staff.
- Step 4 - finalize the plan and secure necessary capital from all sources.
- Step 5 - make and close on the offer, including take possession of the land.
- Step 6 - prepare the land for its various intended usages.
- Step 7 - participate in the first annual “Ultimate Energy Park” tournament!
