First Night Now Out of the Way for WSL 2011 Draft Divisions

The Dream Team
The fields at Purchase College came alive on June 1st. A few hundred WSL players waded through the deep grass, running, screaming, cheering, to play the first games of the season for the WSL 2011 Draft Divisions. Despite the threat of thunder looming to the north and west, all games were played.
Highlights of the night saw the Dream Team (Open White), fronted by Matt "Meat Truck" Tracy and Orion "Silly" Lillyreed, squeak out a 15-14 universe point win against Tom Gibbons and his hot Royal squad. Conversely, the Dream Team's self proclaimed nemesis, the Cream Team (Open Forest), came out on the losing end of a universe point game against the Misfits (Open Orange). The Dream Team and the Cream Team are scheduled to go head to head on Monday, June 6th, on Main 1. Don't miss it!
Also of note was the inability of Coed Black and Forest to get it done right on the first night of the league. Black and Forest played to a 15-15 tie, putting in question the good standing of Black's captains Seth Canetti and Emily Cho and Forest's captains Steve Finn and Emma Frankel for the WSL 2012 season. We'll all have to wait and see how the rest of the summer plays out before a call can be made on that matter.
In spite the failures of Coed Black and Forest, make sure to keep tabs on the Open Division drama this summer by following the antics of the Dream Team and the Cream Team on Facebook.
